COPHE Membership

A COPHE member is an institution, group of institutions or organisation, other than a public university, that is engaged in the delivery of accredited higher education in Australia at bachelor degree level or higher. COPHE also offers Associate Membership for interested organisations that do not meet the criteria for membership, but whose interests are accepted by the Board as consistent with the objectives of COPHE. Applications for Membership need to be made in writing.

COPHE Constitution and Code of Good Practice

COPHE Membership has its responsibilities as well as its privileges. Membership is only open to those who approve and support its objectives as outlined in the COPHE Constitution

For COPHE to retain and enhance its reputation as a voice in the higher education sector, it is vital for the organisation and its membership to act in a way that furthers its communal purpose. Therefore, COPHE members all agree to act in accordance with a Code of Good Practice that embodies the key values underpinning the purpose of COPHE.

COPHE Benchmarking Project

COPHE is working with key members to develop useful benchmarking tools for use in the context of their own institutions and also to form benchmarking partnerships in defined areas.

The COPHE Benchmarking Advisory Group is working to help ensure that the benchmarking needs of small providers in a niche environment can be met. For more information contact

COPHE is able to access TEQSA data gathered from members subject to strict confidentiality protocols. We are in the process of delivering a specification for the data set that will progress use of this data resource in benchmarking activities.

Members' Portal

A Members' Portal is under development to give secure access to key documents to COPHE members only.

The proposal under review has the Members' Portal offering the following:

  • Draft documents for member feedback
  • Details of Working Groups
  • Advisory Group work spaces
  • Forums for interest groups

If you have any ideas or suggestions for the portal, please email us.
