COPHE works to ensure its members have access to all the information needed to enable them to effectively deliver educational services and support to international students. We encourage our members to share the latest Department of Education Fact Sheet for International Students to help their current or potential international students to be aware of all their rights and responsibilities. Download it from here:

COPHE’s international education advisor advocates for members on Government policy forums, reviews and committees. Feedback from members is sought and incorporated to inform our submissions.

Informative reports and posts of the latest relevant data are uploaded to this website regularly.

Opportunities and student expectations are constantly evolving in the international and transnational (offshore) education sector. COPHE welcomes the support given by various levels of government, and the recognition of this sector's significant contribution to the national and global economy and society.

While demand for international education is projected to continue to grow, Australian institutions face increased competition not only from traditional English speaking destinations such as the USA and UK, with their historical advantage, but also from other Asian and European nations.

COPHE members with a particular interest in this sector are invited to join COPHE's International Education Group. Send your contact details to Scott at .

For Students

International students interested in studying in Australia can visit the COPHE Members page for more information on quality private higher education institutions involved in COPHE.

The official Australian Government website for international students, Study In Australia, is managed by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade).  It offers easy to understand information on all aspects of life as an international student in Australia including potential courses, institutions, lifestyle and scholarships.

Valuable comparative information, but currently only on universities, is available on the Australian governments’ Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) website at This website is designed to empower students and their families to make informed choices about their higher education options by bringing together survey data from Australian higher education providers about students’ experiences and graduate job outcomes. The website developers are in the process of including higher education providers other than universities.

An Australian Government Fact Sheet is available providing valuable information on international students’ rights and responsibilities. It details the key things students and parents should know before and during their  study. Download it from:
